Let’s Go Shopping!

In most tourist shopping markets, you could bargain the price of goods. If you are not sure whether you could bargain or not, ask the seller:
“Bisakah saya menawar harganya?” (Can I bargain the price?)
You will also need to know the Indonesian currency. Below is the list of money Indonesians use with its picture.
~ This coin has the smallest value. It is a ‘Seratus Rupiah’ coin.

~ This coin is called ‘Dua Ratus Rupiah’.
~ This coin is called ‘Lima Ratus Rupiah’.
 ~  This is a ‘Seribu Rupiah’.
~ This is a ‘Lima Ribu Rupiah’.
~ This is a ‘Sepuluh Ribu Rupiah’.
~ This is a ‘Dua Puluh Ribu Rupiah’.
~ This is a ‘Lima Puluh Ribu Rupiah’.
~ This is a ‘Seratus Ribu Rupiah’.
When you want to ask the price of something, say:
“Berapa harganya?” (How much does it cost?)
When buying clothes or shoes/sandals, and you want a bigger size, say:
“Ada yang lebih besar?” (Is there a bigger size?)
If you want another color of the clothes or shoes/sandals, say:
“Ada warna yang lain?” (Is there another color?)
If you want to ask for a particular item, say:
“Apakah Anda menjual ….?” Change the …. into the item you want.
For example you want sandals, “Apakah Anda menjual sendal?” (Do you sell sandals?)

Shoes: Sepatu
Bag: Tas
Purse: Dompet
Necklace: Kalung
Bangles: Gelang
Wrist watch: Jam tangan
Mask: Topeng
Paintings: Lukisan
